This handheld suction device is designed to help remove a blockage from the airway by pulling it out rather than pushing. It comes with three masks – toddler, child and adult – so one kit can be kept ready for the whole household, in the kitchen drawer, the cupboard or the car.

Choking usually happens without warning, very often at mealtimes. A person who is choking may not be able to speak, cough or call for help, and in that moment even people who know first aid can find their hands shaking.
Back blows and abdominal thrusts are the recognised first response and should always come first. This device is meant as an additional tool to keep within reach – something simple to pick up if those steps are not enough, or if you are on your own.
How it works
Suction instead of force
Pressing the trigger creates suction through the mask. One-way valves let air leave through the side vents when the device resets, so air is not pushed back towards the airway.
Because it relies on a good seal and a button press rather than on strength or technique, it is designed to be usable by most adults, and it can also be used on yourself.

No assembly and no prior training needed. We recommend practising the motion once (without suction on a person) when it arrives, so it feels familiar.

Three mask sizes included

The correct size matters: the mask has to cover the nose and mouth completely for the suction to work.
Extra accessory
Tongue-depressing tube
If the mouth cavity collapses, it can be harder for suction to reach the blockage. The included tongue-depressing tube can be attached to the mask and placed in the mouth to hold the tongue down and create space.
