Plugs into the diagnostic port · All cylinders stay active · Unplugs anytime

Keep your V8 on all of its cylinders

This plug-and-play module turns off AFM and DFM cylinder deactivation, so the engine stops switching between V8 and V4 mode on every drive. It plugs straight into your vehicle's diagnostic (OBD-II) port, needs no tools and no tune, and you can unplug it anytime to go back to factory settings.

Key features

Easy installation, plug and play

  • Stops the switching: no more cycling between V8 and V4 mode, which works your lifters on every drive.
  • Full V8 power at all times: every cylinder stays active.
  • Quick install: plug it in within seconds, no tools needed.
  • Fully reversible: unplug it anytime and the vehicle is back to factory settings.

How is it different?

Turn cylinder deactivation off without tearing into the engine

The other options are a tune (an engine computer reflash) or a mechanical delete, and both mean a shop visit. This module does the same job of stopping the cylinder cycling, from the diagnostic port.

  • Reversible in seconds: a tune or delete is not, this module is.
  • No permanent change to your truck: nothing is rewritten or removed.
  • No reflash and no shop visit: you fit it yourself.
  • Install time: about 2 seconds, instead of a visit to the shop.

It is a simple, low-cost way to stop the switching on an engine that is still healthy.

The problem

Your engine switches modes all the time

Active and Dynamic Fuel Management keep cycling the engine between V8 and V4 mode. Every cycle puts stress on the lifters.

Lifter wear

The constant switching between V8 and V4 mode wears the lifters, and the manufacturer's own service bulletins describe this failure pattern.

Engine shudder

That rough vibration around 40 to 50 mph is the moment the truck drops into 4-cylinder mode.

Costly repairs

When lifters fail, the fix is a full engine teardown of 12 to 14 hours of labour before parts, and AFM lifter repairs commonly run $3,000 to $8,500. Regular maintenance does not stop the switching.

How it works

Engineered for drivers

The module only turns off the cylinder deactivation function. It keeps your V8 firing on all cylinders without permanent modifications or tuning, and the engine computer stays untouched.

  • Fully reversible: unplug it and the vehicle is back to factory settings.
  • Quick installation: straight into the diagnostic port.
  • No battery drain: it goes into a low-power sleep mode when the vehicle is off.
  • No engine computer reprogramming: the factory software is not rewritten.

Questions people ask

What about my vehicle's factory warranty?

Unlike an engine computer flash or tune, it does not rewrite your vehicle software, and you can unplug it anytime to go back to factory settings. Warranty coverage is decided by your vehicle manufacturer and dealer, so if you have questions about your coverage, check with your dealer before installing.

How difficult is the installation?

You don't need a mechanic or a toolbox. It plugs directly into the diagnostic port, usually found under the dashboard, in seconds. Once it's in, it starts working straight away, with no programming and no permanent modifications.

Will leaving it plugged in drain my battery?

It only draws power when the engine is running and goes into a low-power sleep mode when the vehicle is off. It is designed to stay plugged in during normal daily use. If the truck will sit for weeks, unplug it.

Does it help with lifter wear?

By keeping all cylinders active, it stops the constant switching that works the lifters on every drive, and the shudder that comes with it. It cannot repair an engine that is already damaged, so if yours is ticking, have it checked first.

Good to know

  • For engines with AFM or DFM cylinder deactivation only. Check that your make, model and year are compatible before ordering.
  • It cannot repair an engine that is already damaged. If your engine is ticking, have it checked first.
  • Warranty coverage is decided by your vehicle manufacturer and dealer. Ask your dealer if you are unsure.
