Plugs into the grounding port · 60 x 40 cm mat · Use it at your desk, sofa or bed

Ground yourself at home, any time of day

This mat plugs directly into the grounding port of a power outlet. The ground port is safe to plug into, because it carries no live electricity: it only has a conductive wire behind it that runs down into the earth. When your skin touches the mat's conductive surface, your body is connected to the earth, giving you the same electrical contact as standing barefoot on the ground outside. Rest your feet, hands, wrists or legs on it while you work, relax or read.

Did you know?

Grounding is all around us

The electrical appliances we rely on every day are grounded. The ground port's original purpose is to give electronics a safe path to the earth, so excess charge has somewhere to go.

Most of us spend our days indoors, in shoes and surrounded by devices, with little direct contact with the ground. This mat uses the same safe path to the earth, so you can stay grounded at your desk or on the sofa without going outside.

How it works

A conductive surface, connected to the earth

The grounding cable snaps onto the connection pin on the mat, then plugs into the grounding port of any power outlet. Touch the mat with any part of your skin and you are connected.

  • Connection pin and cable: a simple snap-on connection that stays in place.
  • Conductive carbon surface: carbon-coated polyurethane leather that is soft and friendly to sensitive skin.
  • Built-in resistor: the cable has a 50k ohm safety resistor to protect against electrical surges.

How to use

Simple steps to get grounded

Three steps to use the grounding mat, with a cat lying on the mat

1. Connect the cable

Lay the mat on any surface and snap the grounding cable onto the connection pin.

2. Plug it in

Plug the other end of the cable into the grounding port of any power outlet. Outside the US, use the included plug adapter for your country.

3. Touch the mat

Place any part of your body on the mat. Direct skin contact is best, although a thin layer of clothes also works. Pets like to lie on it too.

Size

A compact mat for feet, hands and arms

At 60 x 40 cm (23.6 x 15.7 in), it fits under a desk, in front of a chair or on a bed. Unlike a grounding bed sheet, it is a small, movable mat you can take from room to room.

The long cable (4.5 m, 15 ft) reaches an outlet even when the mat is across the room.
