Tired of buying dim garden lights that give up after one night in the rain, or a day in the hot sun? These solar-powered festoon lights help you save money and reduce your power bill. Just hang up the string of 15 lights, stake the solar panel into the ground and transform your backyard, verandah, porch, vegetable patch or driveway in minutes.
How it works
Festoon lights for outdoor entertaining
These festoon lights are the easiest way to light up your outdoor entertaining space. Set them up and they're ready to go.
They charge through overcast days and switch on automatically at night, and they come with a remote so you can turn them off or change the brightness without leaving your seat.
- Bright: a warm glow like wired garden lights, with no cables to the house.
- All seasons: rain and cold won't slow them down, and neither will harsh sun.
- Built to last: made to stay outside all year round.
Key features
Solar technology that costs nothing to run
Powered by the sun, these lights cost nothing to run. They're a great upgrade for any home, even if you're renting. Lights that cost nothing to run, last in all weather and will transform your home in minutes.
Where to use it
Perfect for your garden, backyard, patio or porch
Use them anywhere that gets sunlight during the day: your backyard, front yard, driveway, veggie patch or any outdoor path around your home. As long as the solar panel gets sun during the day, they'll turn on automatically at night.

Day and night
They charge in daylight and shine automatically at night
The solar panel charges the lights during the day and they switch on by themselves when it gets dark, so there's no fiddling with timers. Solar charging takes around 6–8 hours of good sunlight. You can also charge them with a 5V 1A USB charger in about 4 hours.
- Stable light: a warm white (2700K) glow for that nostalgic bistro look at a dinner party or wedding.
- Flash modes: quick flash, slow flash and intermittent flash, for a bit of fun or as warning lights.
- Remote: switch modes, change the brightness or turn them off from your seat.

What's inside
Comes with everything you need
The full lighted length is 48 ft (15 m), with 15 sockets and 15 LED bulbs included, plus 1 spare bulb just in case. The bulbs sit 92 cm apart, and there's 184 cm of cord from the plug to the first bulb, giving you plenty of room to position everything just how you like it.
The bulbs use an S14 shape with an E27/E26 base, so replacement bulbs are an easy match if you ever need one after years of use.

Questions people ask
Can I use the festoon lights in the rain, or do I need to bring them inside?
No need to bring them in. They have an IP65 waterproof rating, so they're built to handle wet weather. You can leave them out in the rain on your patio, deck or pergola. The solar panel charges best on dry, sunny days, so position it where it catches plenty of sun.
How are they powered? Do I need to plug them into mains power?
You've got two options. They run on solar power via the included solar panel, or you can charge them with a 5V 1A USB charger. Solar charging takes around 6–8 hours of good sunlight, while a USB charge takes about 4 hours. Once charged, the lights switch on and off automatically.
