How to use
Cuffed or straight?
Cuffed tucks into boots. Straight leg goes over. Not sure? The straight leg is the more versatile.
- Cuffed: an elasticated ankle to tuck into boots.
- Straight: a long zip on each lower leg opens them right up to go easily over boots, and the reflective zip helps you be seen on dark winter mornings and evenings.

How it works
Why the cold stops here
Most trousers just insulate, warming you up after the cold has already got in. These stop it at the surface.
1
Weatherproof outer shell
Rain beads off, wind is blocked at the surface.
Rated to 10,000 mm
2
Windblock membrane
A sealed barrier against wind and driven rain.
Keeps the weather out
3
Cotton wadding
Traps a layer of still, warm air.
Holds your heat in
4
Sherpa fleece lining
Soft warmth held against your skin, no bulk.
Holds your heat in
Four layers, two jobs: weather out, heat in.

- Open-water swimmers: warming up after a dip, standing at the water's edge.
- Everyday outdoors: dog walks, the school run and rugby sidelines.
- Outdoor work: farms, building sites and deliveries.
- Wheelchair and mobility scooter users: warm legs while you sit still outdoors.
- Winter sports: warm and weatherproof enough for a day on the slopes.

Questions people ask
What are they made of?
A weatherproof polyester outer with 8% elastane for stretch, a windblock membrane, cotton wadding and a thick Sherpa fleece lining: four layers working as one system.
Do they fit men and women?
Yes. They're unisex, cut to fit everyone. Just use the size guide for your fit.
Are they suitable for riding?
Yes. They're non-restrictive, with 8% stretch in the outer shell, so they move with you in and out of the saddle.
What do I wear underneath?
Whatever's comfortable: underwear, leggings or shorts. No thermals needed; they're warm on their own.
Are they actually weatherproof?
The outer shell is rated to 10,000 mm hydrostatic head: rain beads off and won't soak through in normal wear, and it blocks the wind. They're called weatherproof rather than waterproof because the seams aren't taped. For everyday cold, wind and rain, they keep the weather off you.
Warm enough if I'm standing still?
Yes. The Sherpa lining insulates whether you're moving or not: on a touchline, in a wheelchair or at the water's edge.
Will I get too hot?
They're made to hold warmth without trapping sweat.
Still weatherproof after washing?
Yes, a 30°C wash won't strip the weatherproofing. Over time and many washes it can start to fade; if it does, simply reproof them at home with an off-the-shelf reproofing product.
Easy to get on with damp legs?
That's what the leg zip on the straight style is for: unzip, step in, zip up. They pull on easily even when your legs are still a little damp.
Can I pull them on over a wet swimsuit?
We'd recommend towelling off first, then stepping into the trousers; you'll be more comfortable. It's possible to pull them straight on over a wet swimsuit, but a quick towel-down first works best.
Will hay or debris get stuck in them?
No. Mud and debris wipe straight off the smooth outer fabric, and the fleece lining inside doesn't hold on to hay or debris.
Can I ski in them?
They're warm and weatherproof enough for a day on the slopes. They're made as warm weatherproof trousers rather than technical ski trousers, so for deep snow you may still want fully taped ski gear.
Good to know
- Weatherproof, not waterproof: the seams aren't taped.
- Not thorn-proof or puncture-proof. For heavy bramble-clearing you'd want dedicated protective trousers.
- Only the straight-leg style has the reflective zip on each lower leg. Choose the straight leg if being seen in low light matters to you.
- Care: machine wash at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle cycle with a gentle detergent. Do not tumble dry; air-dry, or dry on a radiator if needed. Avoid fabric softener.
